Artists And Craftsman Supply Charleston Artist & Craftsman Supply – what a pleasure to stroll through this store. Charleston has such a unique art store, full of knowledgable staff, GREAT prices and such a wide array of choices. The only thing there isn't… parking. They did have a few spots that they were leasing for customers, but something is being built/or changed behind that building and everything is dug up. So… right now there is only meter parking, which isn't so bad ( and it's FREE on Sunday).
They're doing their best to make it as easy as possible for you to shop. So if you're in Charleston, SC check them out. Not sure what more you could want from an art supply store! In this era of Covid, there were a few items missing, but that was a supplier problem. Staff was very helpful without being overbearing. Parking is an issue, but that's just the way it is here. I was very impressed with their outstanding Coronavirus protection, for staff and customers.
I do photorealistic graphite drawings, so my supply needs are small, but I would certainly recommend this store to others. Great for art supplies of course but also a good spot to find really unique gifts. The employees are super helpful as well and can help you find anything you need for an art project. They have so many choices in art supplies and if they dont have it dont worry they will more than likely order it. Once you're inside the staff are super helpful and readily available. Whenever I need something from here I find myself looking for an excuse to to buy more stuff for some other project. It can be a little tough to find tucked away on Calhoun across from Marion Square. The small sign has an artists palate on it and you go underground to get to the entrance. Makes it that much cooler in my opinion.
Excellent staff, supplies and service! They know their product, they know how it is used, they find what you need if they don't have it at hand. Almost all artists themselves, you can't ask for better input. The staff at checkout also made sure I knew about the products I was getting and asked if I had any questions. She also made sure that I knew about the paint pens I bought for a project since they are known to be tricky to use.
